Public Policy Fellowship Program

Overview

The Public Policy Fellowship Program is designed to cultivate thinking towards the premise of some of India’s key public policies. The program seeks to facilitate a better understanding of the topics surrounding public policy by enhancing and enabling knowledge about it. In and through the sessions, the fellowship program also will present to the participants a global, historical and contemporary context under which these policies are currently placed. It is also an effort to keep the participant apprised and sensitized of key policies and how they, in turn, affect the common man and woman.

The course will only be able to provide you a high level overview of the various topics covered. You will not be able to claim expertise in any topic per se, but will definitely be able to better appreciate what is happening around us – thus evolving into a more informed citizen.  Importantly, the fellowship promises to enable learning and unlearning! The fellowship is being curated, organized and run by DAV Shikshanam along with the Tamil Nadu Young Thinkers Forum, an independent not-for-profit forum of young individuals committed to improving the social and economic ecosystem of Tamil Nadu and India.

Armed with their inputs, analysis, and guidance, the fellowship will facilitate informed discussions and stimulate thinking towards public policy, at large.
  • There will be no specifically prescribed textbook for the course. However, reference reading material will be duly suggested for those interested in further detailed research on the subject.
  • Assessments – To maintain the academic integrity of the program, assessments will be conducted twice during the course duration.
